In order to prevent accidents in field oil and gas pipelines caused by corrosion, the relevant inspections and preventive measures are executed. The volume and methods of such inspections are often not optimal. Risk analysis is increasingly used to develop the optimal inspection programs of facilities and field pipelines. This article explains by examples how this is done in the practice.
