About the One of Possible Causes of the Microcor Equipment Inefficiency with Regard to Prompt Detection of Failures in the Inhibitor Treatment System of Oil-field Pipelines

The possible causes of Microcor equipment inefficiency in detecting short-term failures of inhibitor injection were analyzed. The persistence of corrosion inhibitor in use is considered as one of these causes.
It is shown that at the high persistence of corrosion inhibitor, the Microcor equipment, as well as other means of corrosion monitoring, cannot be efficient in detecting short-term failures of inhibitor injection in the treated system, in particular, in the pipeline.
The conclusion is made about the need to evaluate the persistence of corrosion inhibitor before its application in the particular system.
