Corrosion resistance of the dark blue brilliant and opaque titanium oxide coatings sprayed by vacuum-arc method on the mirror polished and opaque surfaces of AISI 304 steel was studied by polarization resistance method. Composition of brilliant coating was close to Ti2O3 and opaque one to TiO, their thickneses were 71 and 151 nm, respectively. The opaque coating was much more corrosion-resistant in 1M H2SO4.
