Researches of a microstructure and physical and mechanical properties of 17G1S brand steel with the different term of operation by means of metallographic and fractographic methods with definition of a chemical composition and mechanical tests of samples of metal are conducted.
It is established that in the studied metal samples the increase in value of temporary resistance of a rupture of metal caused by aging of metal with the viscous mechanism of destruction is observed. The metal sample taken from the place of a rupture of a pipe has the increased value of temporary resistance of a gap caused by aging of metal with the fragile mechanism of destruction.
