Saccharin (0.5…2 g/L) was added into water-DMF solution used for Co–Cr–W protective coatings electrodeposition in order to reduce internal stresses in the deposits. This led to the decrease in porosity and to the corresponding increase in the protective ability of coatings under conditions of acid salt spray chamber. Apparently, this effect is associated with decrease in the number of through pores and cracks in the coatings.
